We've officially reached the end of Q2 and what a six months it's been!

Between employment law changes, a run of early heatwaves, and a World Cup that's had half your team sneaking glances at their phones, 2026 has been anything but quiet for small business owners.

It's the perfect moment to pause, take stock, and ask: are we still on track for the goals we set in January?

Halfway through 2026: time to pause, reassess and plan for Q3

What's made this quarter so eventful?

Employment law changes. New rules around statutory rights have landed this year and many small businesses are still catching up on what it means for contracts, policies and day-to-day HR practice.

The heatwaves. Several early and intense heatwaves have already tested workplace policies on working conditions, remote flexibility, and staff wellbeing. How have you coped with these issues? I have been supporting clients with safe working practices during extreme temperatures whilst maintaining business continuity.

The World Cup. A major tournament always brings a ripple of distraction, requested time off and shifted productivity. Smart business owners have used it as a reason to look again at flexible scheduling rather than fight against it.

Individually, none of these are huge. Together, they're the kind of quarter that quietly knocks plans off course without anyone noticing.

Why now is the right moment to act

End of quarter is a natural checkpoint. It's when the gap between what was planned and what actually happened becomes clearest.

When small, timely adjustments can save a lot of rectification later in the year.

A proper Q2 review isn't about dwelling on what went wrong. It's about being honest, learning fast and walking into Q3 with a sharper, more realistic plan.

How I can help

This is exactly the kind of work I love supporting business owners with:

Goal and strategy review - A clear look at your performance against your original goals and a practical reset for Q3 priorities.

Policy and compliance health-check - Making sure your policies and contracts reflect the latest legal changes so you're protected and your team is clear on where they stand.

Pinch-point problem solving - Whether it's a process that keeps breaking, a team structure that's creaking under pressure or simply not having enough hours in the day, I can help identify the real bottleneck and fix it.

Strategic planning for Q3 - Turning lessons from this quarter into a focused, achievable plan for the next, so you're being deliberate rather than reactive.

Here's to a strong, strategic Q3!

If any of this sounds exactly what your business needs right now, book a time with me. A short conversation now could save you a much longer one in three months' time.
